///////About Jakeez////////

Jakeez, (named many years ago by my oldest niece, when she was a toddler, because I used to carry a wallet, with a chain, and my key's attached, thus "jay""keys". my niece is now 20, and in college, but I keep that name, because it stuck) I was born and raised just outside of Detroit. I got hooked on electronic music of all kinds, as a kid, way back when the radio show "fast forward" was DJ'd by DJT-1000, and music like LFO was on the regular late-nite weekend playlist, on the ONLY public FM radio station in Detroit -101.9! meanwhile, The New Dance Show was playing kraftwerk's ein zwei drei, and the ever silly "it's time for the percolator" and "doo doo brown", on public T.V.!!! I was a party goer way back. ever since my friends and I, could get in a car, and head into the city. I know it's sometime around the early 90's, and I'm 36 now. Sorry if I don't remember exactly when, but I can tell you I was a regular at spots such as the beginning's of 1515 Broadway, 1517 Broadway? East Hastings, Packard Plant, Eastern Market [Bent Fabrik] Bankle Building, zoots coffee house, etc, etc, etc! maybe if I wasn't high a bunch of times as we pulled into the city, I might have a better sense of the time! ;-) and if you were there too, you might remember seeing me. most people I've ever known, have told me for better or worse, I am not a face that's easily forgotten! the things I can remember just like yesterday, are the amazing tracks being spun, by soo many now world famous DJ/Producers. I was at a party dancing my ass off, mostly every weekend. and I can still remember sooo many amazing nights of music. I consider myself, very honored, to have been there, during the birth of Detroit techno music. when not at a party, eating, or sleeping, I was experimenting with my own music making. at first with cheap toy gear, and guitar pedals, and outdated rack efx, then with more professional gear, and computers. I handed out some cassettes to a few select people around Detroit, over the years, but never really took the initiative to take on serious producing. as time went on, and friends went their separate ways; including a few in their un-timely passing's :-( I was forced to take a long hard look at my life, thus far. sadly, for me, the answer was to drop out of the scene, because I just didn't want to go down, like so many good kids were, all around me. I wanted to LIVE! I WANTED TO KEEP COMING HOME TO MY COLLECTION OF GEAR, AND MY COLLECTION OF RECORDINGS. some recordings that were of myself, and I was sure one day, some would be recognized by somebody, and maybe loved by someone other than myself...... after many many years of quietly working in my own personal project studio at home, I have probably produced well over 200 tracks, not including many hundreds more snippets or sketches, and other random ideas, that never quite took off. not all of my finished tracks are publicly playable (at least not in my opinion) but a great many, I feel, are ready for the world to hear, at last. After all these long years, I am ready to let you hear them. FINALLY I AM NOT AFRAID TO COME OUT AND GET DOWN. I will do it for those who I've lost, and for those you too have lost, all along the way. those who were not strong enough to stand up for what we believe in. those who believe in peace, through unity. I will do it for Detroit! ...I WILL DO IT FOR ME! I hope you will enjoy some of my hard work. it's taken me a great many years, and a great many bits of gear, bought and sold, to come up with all this stuff
